Only last year’s winner Anna Bondar stands between her and her first title on the WTA Tour.
France’s new tennis darling Lois Boisson is very close to her first title on the WTA Tour. The 22-year-old advanced to the final at the tournament in Hamburg with a 6-1, 7:6 (7:5) against Dajana Jastremska at the Rothenbaum – the first time in her career.
Awaiting her in Sunday’s final is defending champion Anna Bondar (Hungary), who previously defeated Kaja Juvan from Slovenia (5:7, 6:3, 6:4).
Boisson has been one of the surprise players of the year so far. At the French Open, she sensationally became the first wild card player in 40 years to reach the semi-finals, but then lost to eventual winner Coco Gauff.
However, she failed to qualify for Wimbledon on grass. Now she could resume her rise on clay.
