Next Formula 1 documentary on the way: Keanu Reeves accompanies Cadillac’s entry

Cadillac’s eagerly awaited entry into Formula 1 is being closely followed: Film star Keanu Reeves, who already appeared in the Brawn documentary, is also involved

Formula 1 and Hollywood seem to be in a real love affair these days: Not only are “F1” star Brad Pitt and fellow actor Tom Cruise big fans of the premier class, Keanu Reeves is also known to be a huge motorsport fan – which is why the ‘Matrix’ star previously appeared in the Disney+ documentary “Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story.”

Now Reeves has found a new exciting project in the Formula 1 universe: he will serve as host and executive producer for a documentary about Cadillac’s eagerly awaited entry into Grand Prix racing – the American team will compete in Formula 1 from 2026, and Reeves and his team will accompany them on their journey.

As reported by Autosport.com on Tuesday, team boss Graeme Lowdon is currently pushing ahead with the development of the new team from six warehouses in Silverstone, UK, while the racing team’s new headquarters is being built in Fishers, Indianapolis. This will serve as the permanent home for Cadillac’s Formula 1 project in the future.

Reeves: “I feel honored and excited.”

The team’s owners, TWG Motorsports and General Motors, are opening all doors to the film crew and granting them unrestricted access for an in-depth look.

Reeves, who is once again joining the North One production team with his production company KR+SH, is delighted about the opportunities: “I am honored and thrilled to be able to tell the remarkable story of Cadillac’s F1 team and their extraordinary journey into the world of Formula 1.”

“Our goal with this documentary series is to take the audience on a journey to the heart of this endeavor and show what it takes to compete in one of the most exclusive sports in the world,” explains Reeves, who wants to give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the ambitious undertaking of not only building a team from the ground up, but also making it competitive.

At the heart of it all is General Motors’ vision of establishing an American big player in the premier class, which is currently booming in the US. The growing interest there is also confirmed by the recent major fan survey conducted by Formula 1 and Motorsport Network, the “Global F1 Fan Survey 2025.”

“It’s a story of bold ambition and relentless drive,” said Dan Towriss, CEO of TWG Motorsports and the Cadillac Formula 1 team, commenting on the new film project: “We are proud to be working with Keanu – his passion and knowledge of racing are impressive,” praised the American, who believes: “This story offers the chance to inspire a new generation of fans for Formula 1, and Keanu’s creative energy is the perfect spark to ignite that fire.”
