Zorniger announces: Arp leaves Kiel and moves to Denmark

Fiete Arp is leaving Holstein Kiel and will continue his career in Denmark. The former Bayern Munich talent has signed a three-year contract with Odense BK, where he will be reunited with coach Alexander Zorniger.

Hamburger SV, Bayern Munich, Holstein Kiel, and now Odense BK. Fiete Arp is leaving his home country and continuing his career in Denmark, as was officially announced on Monday evening. In the neighboring country, Arp has signed a three-year contract with the newly promoted first division club until June 30, 2028, and will wear the number 7 jersey in the future.

Odense’s head coach Alexander Zorniger, who is succeeding promotion coach Sören Krogh, apparently played a decisive role in the transfer. A transfer fee in the lower six-figure range is rumored. BK sporting director Troels Bech calls Arp “one of the most promising talents in Germany for several years.”

During talks, Bech and Arp emphasized “that it would be good for him to find a place where he can really find his rhythm.” Odense’s sporting director raves about Arp’s “speed, technique, and finishing.” Bech is happy that his club ultimately won the bid: “With these skills, he will be of interest to many clubs.”

“A type of player we don’t yet have in our squad”

Arp will lead the young team with his experience from 41 Bundesliga and 84 second division appearances. “His age, his skills, his level and his vast experience make him the type of player we don’t yet have in our squad,” said Bech.

Arp reports that early talks with Odense ultimately tipped the scales in his favor. “The more we talked, the more I was convinced that I wanted to be part of OB, and now I’m looking forward to taking the club to the next level together after promotion,” Arp is quoted as saying by the club.

The summer signing will train with his new teammates for the first time on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.
