Zinedine Zidane is Interested in United Job as Mourinho Exit Draws Closer

All is not well at Manchester United and the humiliating 3-0 defeat at home to Tottenham compounded this. Mourinho’s strange behaviour involving clapping the fans followed by his bizarre press conference speech has further alienated the Old Trafford faithful.

The players do not look like they want to play for him and there are reports about potential signings not joining because they didn’t like Mourinho’s style of football. It certainly feels like the end is looming for his stint as Manchester United manager. They have lost two games from their opening three matches, which they had not done since the 1992-93 season.

Zidane is favourite to take Mourinho’s place

A long list of top names have been linked with the role and Zinedine Zidane is the bookies’ favourite at 5/2. Other names include Conte, Blanc, Pochettino, Jardim, Allegri and Deschamps. One manager that is reportedly interested in taking the role is Real Madrid legend, Zinedine Zidane.

Zidane recently left the Real Madrid manager’s role after leading the team to a third Champions League in a row. The most recent of those wins was against United’s bitter rivals Liverpool, so Zidane will already be in favour with the fans for doing that.

United need changes as time is running out for Mourinho

United face Burnley away at the weekend and a bad result could be enough to push Mourinho out of the door. Zidane would bring some much-needed changes into a team that has started the Premier League season looking out of sorts. He will also have the ability to attract some of the top stars from across the football world, as he is a well-respected figure in the game.

His success in Europe will also give fans a real boost, knowing that they are getting a man that has had recent success, rather than Mourinho who keeps bragging about successes from his past whilst his current team flounders.
