Zeidler’s time at Lausanne is over

In view of the inadequate results in the second half of the season from the point of view of the club management, FC Lausanne-Sport has drawn the consequences and dismissed Peter Zeidler. This marks the end of the German’s involvement in French-speaking Switzerland after just under a year.

Almost two years after leaving VfL Bochum, Peter Zeidler took over the reins at FC Lausanne-Sport last summer, but now his involvement in western Switzerland has come to an early end. The long-serving FC St.Gallen coach succeeded Ludovic Magnin after his move to FC Basel, but Lausanne never really got going in the league under him. The Vaud team is currently in ninth place. However, there is no real danger of relegation, as Grasshoppers are twelve points behind FC Lausanne-Sport ahead of the start of the relegation round.

Zeidler’s greatest success at Lausanne-Sport was making it into the Conference League. Zeidler’s men prevailed against the Turkish club Besiktas Istanbul. In the Conference League, they only made it to the intermediate round. The Czechs from Sigma Olomouc were too strong for the Swiss representative.

A duo takes over

The club management would like to thank Peter Zeidler and emphasize his personality and commitment in the press release. Markus Neumayr, previously the assistant coach, and Migjen Basha, previously talent manager, will take over FC Lausanne-Sport until the end of the season.

According to the club, the search for a new head coach begins today. The aim of FC Lausanne-Sport is to establish itself permanently in the top 6 of the Super League.
