“He looked slow. I think he’s done”: Ring legend Kevin Nash believes that reigning World Champion CM Punk has passed his prime – and is calling for his replacement.
Is CM Punk miscast as WWE World Champion? Wrestling legend Kevin Nash is causing a stir with his sharp criticism of the popular veteran star – and believes the time is ripe for a change.
In his latest “Kliq This” podcast, the last surviving founding member of the legendary New World Order, along with Hulk Hogan and Scott Hall, sharply criticizes the 47-year-old, accusing him of being out of shape in his last match.
WWE: Kevin Nash thinks CM Punk’s time is up
“I watched Punk in the main event last Monday,” said “Big Sexy” about last week’s tag team match between Punk and Rey Mysterio against Austin Theory and Bronson Reed on the Netflix show Monday Night RAW – and then launched into an all-out attack.
“Point 1: You’re the WWE Heavyweight Champion and you’re fighting in a T-shirt? Ouch!” Nash mocked, suggesting that Punk was hiding a physique that was not fully trained under his shirt.
Criticism point 2 followed hot on its heels: “His punches looked really slow. He looked slow. I think he’s done.“ With an eye on the title match against the young Bron Breakker scheduled for the upcoming RAW, Nash then wished for the end of his former rival’s reign: ”I think Bron should beat him,” Nash pleaded for a victory for the son of Hall of Fame colleague Rick Steiner.
Punk has been WWE World Champion since early November, filling the void left by the serious injury to previous titleholder Seth Rollins. For Punk, it was his biggest success since his late WWE comeback in late 2023. He is likely to disagree with the claim that his time is up, as are numerous fans — but the former Diesel obviously sees it that way.
