Würzburg home match against Braunschweig cancelled

Würzburg were supposed to host Eintracht Braunschweig on Monday evening to conclude the 15th match day of the Third Division. However, the match was cancelled at short notice.

The reason for the cancellation a few hours before the scheduled kick-off are Corona cases that occurred at the Unterfranken. According to the club, PCR tests revealed four positive corona findings. As a result, the FWK requested a postponement of the match from the DFB late on Monday morning.

The association complied with this request. “As other players have already been affected by cold symptoms and are on sick leave and are therefore also unavailable, the formal requirements for a match cancellation have been met,” the DFB announced. It is not yet known when the match will be made up.

In the 3rd division, positive corona findings have once again resulted in a postponement of the match. The games between FSV Zwickau and bottom side TSV Havelse and the home game between 1860 München and Waldhof Mannheim

will also have to be made up.
