Commentator icon Jim Ross has gone public with a colon cancer diagnosis – not his first battle with serious health issues.
Jim Ross, one of wrestling’s most legendary commentators, has been diagnosed with colon cancer.
The former WWE and current AEW commentator announced the diagnosis on his social media channels. The 73-year-old said that his surgery is scheduled for the next week or two and thanked all his fans in advance for their concern and support.
Past health issues
This is not the first time Ross has faced serious health problems: Ross has long suffered from the effects of Bell’s palsy, a paralysis disorder, and in recent years he has survived skin cancer and a broken hip.
Now show fighting fans around the world are hoping that he will win this battle too. Ross continued to commentate at major AEW events until recently and also works in an advisory capacity for WWE’s rival.
At WWE, Ross formed a legendary duo with Jerry “The King” Lawler for many years – who himself survived a stroke two years ago.
