Where Next for Chelsea Legend John Terry?

John Terry Aston Villa

Chelsea legend, John Terry has denied claims that he is ready to hang up his football boots, as he looks for his next challenge at 37-years-old. His old teammate Frank Lampard has made the transition over to management, taking over the role at Derby County, whilst his England teammate Gerrard has taken over at Glasgow Rangers.

Terry is weighing up his options

However, it would appear that Terry is not ready to join them on the side of the pitch and wants to extend his playing career after announcing via Instagram that he is weighing up all options. There is the possibility that he could join Lampard at Derby County to bring extensive experience and a winning mentality to the squad as they embark on a promotion campaign.

A future TV career could be on the cards

A career as a Sky Sports pundit could be on the cards, with Thierry Henry making the decision to concentrate on his coaching/managerial career instead of being in the TV studio. Terry could join an all-star line-up with Carragher and Gary Neville making up a dream team of defenders.

Terry could be tempted with a lucrative move to the MLS

He may even be able to balance TV work with the last season as a player, provided he remains in England. If he does decide to make a more lucrative move to the US or China then that will limit his availability to work with Sky Sports. Wayne Rooney has recently made the move to DC United and Terry could be the next big name to finish their playing career in the MLS.

There will be no shortage of teams bidding to bring Terry to their club, so one more option is for him to join the likes of Rooney and Ibrahimovic in the US before he retires.
