Visa issue settled: Schröder to fly to the US at the weekend

Dennis Schröder has settled his visa woes and is set to fly to the US this weekend, according to US media.

But ESPN reported on Thursday night (local time) that it was still unclear whether the 29-year-old would join the team for the Los Angeles Lakers’ test match against the Golden State Warriors on Sunday. It is the fourth of a total of six preparation games for the record champions ahead of the upcoming NBA season. Schröder missed the first three games as well as then the first two weeks of preparation.

New Lakers coach Darvin Ham recently went on record saying he wanted to throw his new addition “right into the deep end of the pool” so he could get into NBA rhythm as quickly as possible.

Strong performances at the European Championships

Schröder will play for the Los Angeles Lakers for the second time in his career next season. At the European Championships in the summer, he had convinced as team captain with strong performances for the national team and played a big part in the bronze medal. During the tournament, it became known that the Californians wanted to re-sign the point guard.
