Twitter and Adidas Join Teams to Show High School Football

Adidas Twitter friday night stripes series

Great interest has been growing in high school football recently and this has been further confirmed by the latest partnership between Twitter and Adidas. They have teamed up to provide live streaming of top high school teams including an eight-game series that starts on 7th September.

Twitter to bring live streaming of high school football

Twitter has long been the top platform for high school football fans to get updates and news about their teams, so it makes perfect sense for the platform to now step up with live streaming of the action.

Andrew Barge, Twitter’s Head of Sports Broadcast Partnerships commented on the deal: “We’re thrilled to partner with Adidas and Intersport to help fulfil this massive and untapped opportunity. Both have established credibility as creators in the high school sports arena, and with Twitter’s engaged audience, we’re excited to deliver eight live games that celebrate the unique, community-based passion for high school football on a national level.”

Friday Night Stripes starts 7th September

The ‘Friday Night Stripes’ shows will allow high school football fans to see the up and coming stars of the future, using a platform that they already love and use regularly. High schools that will be showcased include Chaminade High School from Florida, Ben Davis High School from Indiana and Marietta High School from Georgia. To add to the excitement, the broadcast booth will feature some top former football players as well as YouTube sensation Cameron ‘Scooter’ Magruder.

It is an exciting time for sports fans as more focus is switching to providing live sport through online streaming when events would previously not be televised or broadcast in any form. This is a great move for high school football and can only be beneficial for the development of the game.
