Transfer News: Kurt Zouma Could Still Move to Everton

Kurt Zouma on loan to everton

Everton was certainly busy on the deadline day, bringing in Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes from Barcelona, as well as the Brazilian winger Bernard. Despite making those three signings, they could still be in the process of tying up Kurt Zouma on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

Deal sheet submitted before the deadline

Despite the transfer window closing at 5 pm yesterday, Everton was able to submit a deal sheet that allows extra time to conclude the paperwork. So even though it has not been officially announced yet, Zouma could still be playing for Everton this season.

Everton has left it late to get these deals wrapped up but they have made some very good signings there. Yerry Mina had attracted interest from a large number of top clubs but the Toffees managed to get him in a last-minute deal.

Barcelona’s Mina and Gomes head to Goodison

Mina and Gomes were reportedly offered to Manchester United as part of a Barcelona bid to land Paul Pogba. Barca is said to have offered the two players plus a fee thought to be in the region of €45million to try and obtain the powerful Frenchman. United turned down the offer, paving the way for Everton to make a move for those two players.

A Brazilian invasion

Bernard joins an influx of other Brazilian players who have headed to the Premier League this summer. Brazilians Ederson, Danilo, Fernandinho, Jesus, Willian and Firmino were already plying their trade in the Premier League. Now Fred, Alisson, Fabinho, Jorginho and now Bernard have also joined, so there are going to be plenty of samba stars to light up the league this season.

Zouma deal to be announced soon

Zouma has struggled to break into the first team at Chelsea since he signed for them but has had relatively successful loan spells, including last season at relegated Stoke City. Everton should find out soon whether they can add him to their defence if the loan is approved this morning.
