Linda Noskova wins the Wimbledon final against Karolina Muchova after a dramatic three-set match. She fights back tears during the award ceremony.
Linda Noskova triumphed in the all-Czech final against Karolina Muchova. The 21-year-old prevailed 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 on Saturday on Center Court at Wimbledon, claiming her first Grand Slam title. During the award ceremony, Noskova was visibly overcome with emotion. “All the blood, sweat, and tears were worth it,” she said later.
She directed most of her thanks to her family—and specifically to her mother, Ivana, who passed away from cancer two years ago. “There’s one more person I’d like to thank: my mom. Without her, I absolutely wouldn’t be here, so thank you,” said the 21-year-old, blowing a kiss toward the stands before fighting back tears.
Linda Noskova Wins Wimbledon 2026
Although Linda Noskova is known for her mental toughness on the court, she couldn’t hide her emotion at the magnitude of her success: “I don’t usually cry—that’s not who I am. But I’ve enjoyed these two weeks so much. All the tears of sadness, all the tears of joy. All the sweat and effort it took to get here—it was all worth it. I’ll never forget these two weeks.”
Noskova seemed to have everything under control early in the match: She dominated the first set and was already leading 5–2 in the second.
Then Muchova turned the match around with a remarkable run. While Noskova squandered five match points, Muchova won five games in a row and forced a deciding set.
Muchova’s late comeback halted
In the third set, Noskova shook off the slump, went for her returns with courage once again, and regained the lead.
After 2 hours and 28 minutes, she finally converted her sixth match point, collapsed exhausted onto the grass—and Muchova’s late comeback was finally halted.
Noskova served ten aces, hit more winners, and ultimately prevailed in the decisive, close moments against the 29-year-old.
