The LeBron Effect: Nationwide Broadcasts of the 76ers Rise by More Than 100 Percent

Following the signings of LeBron James and Jaylen Brown, the Philadelphia 76ers are likely the most sought-after team in the league. This also has very concrete implications for broadcasts: According to a new report, the number of games broadcast nationwide is more than doubling—no other NBA team gets more!

According to Front Office Sports, the current rights holders have agreed to grant the Sixers the contractually stipulated maximum of 34 regular-season games on national television. All other games will then be available either via streaming or on local broadcasters, which are very common in the U.S.

Compared to last year, this represents an increase of more than 100 percent for the 76ers! During the 2025–26 season, ABC/ESPN, NBC Sports, and Prime Video aired only 14 of Philadelphia’s games on national television.

According to the TV contract, which took effect last season and will bring the NBA nearly 76 billion dollars over eleven years, every franchise is guaranteed at least two nationally televised games per season. A handful of teams—always those with the highest concentration of stars on their rosters—reach the maximum of 34 games. All other teams fall somewhere in between.

Last season, four teams received the maximum: the eventual champion New York Knicks, LeBron’s Los Angeles Lakers, the then-defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder, and Stephen Curry’s Golden State Warriors.
