Tennis star horrifies mother with tattoo

With his eccentric actions, Nick Kyrgios regularly causes a stir on the tennis court. Now he drew attention away from it – and shocked his mother

A beautiful back can also be charming. That’s probably what tennis pro Nick Kyrgios thought when he went to his regular tattoo artist in Los Angeles. The Australian, known for his outbursts on the court, got a new motif. And what a motif it was. For a few days now, his entire back has been covered with a Pokémon artwork consisting of several characters from the world-famous Japanese video and collectible card game.

The world’s number 35 showed it off publicly on Instagram, writing, “studio days in LA.” And: “Five artists at once at a table in one of the best studios”. The outlines of the figures have been drawn, and the coloured paintings will probably follow soon.

Kyrgios’ mother Nill not very enthusiastic about tattoo

The tennis bad boy missed Wimbledon, where he reached the final last year, because of a torn ligament. Instead, he used his time off to do other things. Not all his family members were happy about this.

Under his post, his mother Nill commented briefly and unequivocally: “NO!!!!!!”. Kyrgios’ girlfriend Costeen Hatzi reacted similarly: “Omg” – Oh my god.

After all, his brother Christos was more sympathetic to the idiosyncratic artwork. He wrote: “Pokémon Master, love it. “

Kyrgios is known to be a huge Pokémon fan. He once claimed he spent more time playing Pokémon than he did on the tennis court. When he will return to it is still uncertain. Until then, he can devote himself extensively to his favourite video game again, which even gets under his skin.
