Tel racially insulted after Bayern defeat

Bayern striker Mathys Tel (18) has been racially insulted on the internet after the Supercup defeat against Leipzig. The player and club have already reacted.

The topic of racism accompanied the football weekend in Germany. In the DFB Cup in Halle and also at the Supercup in Munich on Saturday evening. Bayern youngster Mathys Tel experienced racist hostility on the internet after the champions’ 3-0 defeat against cup winners RB Leipzig.

The Bavarians reacted to this and made the insults public. The club also condemned the remarks in no uncertain terms. “Whoever writes such disgustingly racist things is not a fan of FC Bayern,” it said in a statement. “Mathys, we are behind you and you have our full support!”

The 18-year-old Frenchman, who has played for FCB since last summer, doesn’t want to let the racist insults get too close. “It’s in the head. It won’t reach anything or anyone,” he wrote on Instagram. “I’m here to grow and every day teaches me something new, just like today. ”

“Thank you to my real Bavarian family “

Tel thanked his employer for their support. “Thank you to my real Bavarian family and to those who support me whether the weather is nice or whether it is raining,” he added. His teammates Jamal Musiala, Kingsley Coman and Ryan Gravenberch commented on the Instagram post with a heart.
