Tennis player Laura Siegemund just missed a big surprise at the tournament in Portoroz, Slovenia. The 34-year-old from Metzingen lost in the first round against Wimbledon winner Jelena Rybakina from Kazakhstan in three sets 7:6 (7:4), 4:6, 6:7 (8:10).
Anna-Lena Friedsam, on the other hand, beat the American Elizabeth Mandlik 0:6, 6:4, 6:1. The 28-year-old will now play top seed Emma Raducanu, who won the US Open in 2021, in the last 16.
