Returning to Reims: Jordan leaves Union Berlin

At the last minute in this winter transfer window, Jordan (28) has left Union Berlin. The attacker returns to Stade Reims.

On Sunday, Berlin signed Marin Ljubicic (Linzer ASK) as a new striker. One day later, the Irons lost an attacker: Jordan returned to France to join Stade Reims. The 28-year-old took his first steps in the professional ranks there, playing 25 times in Ligue 1 during the 2015/16 season and scoring three goals.

After spells at LB Chateauroux, Stade Rennes and Young Boys Bern, Jordan joined Union Berlin in the Bundesliga in 2022. In his first season, he scored four goals in 31 league games, after which he moved on to Gladbach on loan. He made 25 appearances in the league for Borussia, scoring five times.

Last summer, he returned to Köpenick. This season, however, the striker, who has been out of luck for months, has not had a good time at Union: in 18 league and two cup games, Jordan has not scored a single goal. Now he is seeking his luck again in France.

“I will never forget my time at Union”

“I will never forget my time at Union. I made many new friends and what we achieved together is still incredible. Now I’m looking forward to returning to France and I would like to thank 1. FC Union Berlin, all those in charge and especially the fans for their support,” Jordan commented on the Unioners’ website about his move.

And Horst Heldt, managing director of professional football, adds: “Jordan’s early days here at Union were very impressive and we would all have liked him to continue like that. Nevertheless, he never gave up, always worked on himself and always put himself at the service of the team. Of course, we wish Jordan all the best for the future and thank him for his commitment.”
