Spectacular finale on the famous “Ouninpohja”: the queen stage of the 2025 Rally Finland will be the power stage
The organizers of the 2025 Rally Finland, the ninth round of the 2025 World Rally Championship (WRC), are introducing a spectacular new feature this year. The legendary “Ouninpohja” stage will be the venue for the rally finale and will be held for the first time on the final day
The second pass on the stage, which is characterized by its high speed and countless jumps, will thus become the Power Stage, where the five fastest drivers can win additional points.
“We wanted to find a way to make this legendary stage as accessible as possible for fans and believe we have found the ideal solution,” says rally director Kai Tarkiainen. ”The route offers sufficient space along the stage so that spectators can find the best viewing opportunities and enjoy the entire day.”
The choice of “Ouninpohja” as the Power Stage is remarkable for several reasons. At 23.98 kilometers, it is the longest special stage of the 2025 Rally Finland. Usually, shorter stages with a length of between ten and 15 kilometers are selected for the Power Stage.
The rest of the route for the 2025 Rally Finland consists largely of stages that have been driven in previous years. However, parts of the route have been changed. For example, the “Leustu” stage on Saturday uses sections that have not been used for almost 30 years.
Tarkiainen emphasizes that route design always requires a balance between various factors: “The most important aspects are safety and sporting fairness, but of course we also want to provide a great experience for local spectators and a high-quality TV production.”
