Detroit makes a statement: 1st place in the East secured

The Detroit Pistons have secured the top seed in the Eastern Conference with a commanding 116:93 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. After an initially even game, the visitors took control shortly before half-time and pulled away decisively with a strong 15:4 run.

In the second half, Detroit extended its lead to over 20 points at times and left nothing to chance. Tobias Harris (19 points) and Daniss Jenkins (16 points, 14 assists) led the team. Jalen Duren (16 points) and Ausar Thompson (14) also made important contributions.

The 76ers, on the other hand, had to make do without Joel Embiid and were unable to keep the game open despite solid performances from Tyrese Maxey (23 points) and Paul George (20). It is Detroit’s first top seed in the East since the 2006-07 season.
