On Tuesday morning, the former heavyweight world champion from Ukraine took to social media to speak out for the first time about the death of the mother of his 11-year-old daughter, Kaya.

Emotional Message Following Hayden Panettiere’s Death

“Our family is currently going through a time of deep shock and grief. The news of Hayden’s tragic death saddens me deeply. She left this world far too soon. Even though she was no longer my partner, Hayden was an important part of my life and the mother of our daughter Kaya,” Klitschko wrote.

“Thanks to her immense talent, she built an incredible career, but in doing so, she also had to deal with the dark side of a very demanding industry. Nothing will ever erase the times we shared or the place she held in our lives,” he explained.

Klitschko’s words about his daughter are deeply emotional: “I will always speak of her mother to our daughter Kaya with respect and make sure she remembers her for the person she was.”

Klitschko met Panettiere at an event
