One week after trade: Schröder wins in Sacramento

Just one week after his trade in the NBA, Dennis Schröder celebrated a successful return to Sacramento. The captain of the German national team won 132-126 with the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Kings, securing his second victory with his new club in his second game.

Schröder came off the bench at his old stomping ground and contributed seven points (3/9), three rebounds, and four assists in 17 minutes.

Eleven-time All-Star James Harden made his debut for Cleveland, scoring 23 points. Point guard Donovan Mitchell was the top scorer with 35 points, while Nique Clifford was Sacramento’s best scorer with 30 points.

In what is now their twelfth consecutive defeat, the Kings fought hard. The lead changed hands a total of 17 times. With just under four minutes to go, Cardwell had even put his team 7 points ahead with a three-pointer. Harden scored twelve of his 23 points in the final five minutes and helped secure the victory.

The Cavs signed Schröder from Sacramento last Sunday. While the 32-year-old has a good chance of making the playoffs with Cleveland, who have a record of 32 wins and 21 losses, the Kings remain the worst team in the league with 12 wins and 42 losses.
