Oliver Bearman puts an end to speculation about a possible move to Aston Martin—the Haas driver makes it clear that his ultimate goal remains Ferrari
Oliver Bearman has firmly dismissed speculation about a possible move to Aston Martin. The Haas driver emphasizes that his long-term goal remains a seat at Ferrari and that he still feels a strong connection to the historic Italian team.
The Briton completed his first full Formula 1 season for Haas in 2026 and is considered one of the greatest talents to come out of Ferrari’s junior program. Because the path to a regular seat at the Scuderia currently appears blocked by the driver pairing of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, there has recently been speculation about possible alternatives for Bearman.
On the “F1 Beyond The Grid” podcast, the 21-year-old was therefore asked directly about a possible move to Aston Martin. This comes amid speculation that a seat there could become available in the coming years.
Bearman still sees his future at Ferrari
Bearman makes it clear, however, that he currently sees no reason to turn his back on Ferrari. “I feel very indebted to Ferrari for what they’ve made possible for me. They’ve supported me from the very beginning, ever since I joined Formula 3. I owe it to them that I’m here today,” explains the Haas driver.
For him, Ferrari remains the ultimate goal of his career, and Aston Martin is not an option: “Ferrari is the dream team for me. Not just because I’m part of the program, but because it’s probably the most iconic brand in the world. My goal remains to become a Ferrari driver one day. That’s my plan right now, and then we’ll see how everything plays out.”
At the same time, Bearman emphasizes that while he certainly recognizes Aston Martin’s potential, he is not currently considering a move there. “Aston Martin is going through a difficult phase right now. But I’m sure that one day they’ll be an incredibly strong team. Still, I wouldn’t say I’m looking their way at the moment.”
Solid First Half of the Season for Haas
After the first half of the 2026 Formula 1 season, Bearman is in 13th place in the drivers’ standings with 18 points. This puts him well ahead of his Haas teammate Esteban Ocon, who has scored three points so far and is in 17th place in the standings. Overall, Haas has 21 points after the first half of the season, placing them seventh in the Constructors’ Championship.
With his clear commitment to Ferrari, Bearman has put an end—for now—to recent speculation about a possible move, even though his long-term future in Formula 1 remains closely tied to developments in the driver market.
