Lando Norris is taking a break from social media to improve his focus and productivity – he calls Instagram and other platforms a “waste of time” and is setting new priorities.
McLaren driver Lando Norris has taken a break from social media ahead of this weekend’s Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. According to his own statement, this has allowed him to focus better on productive things.
The British racing driver, who has 9.9 million followers on Instagram, said according to a report by ESPN: “I haven’t been on social media for a few weeks.”
“It’s just not something I enjoy. I don’t need it. It’s my life. I can do what I want,” he said, explaining his decision to step away from Instagram and other social media platforms. ‘I enjoy not being on my phone as much as I used to be.’ Of course, he still uses his phone. ”I text my friends and stuff.”
But he sees social media as “a waste of time and energy – and I just don’t need that,” the Briton emphasized. That’s why he hadn’t posted anything on Instagram since his podium finish at the Miami Grand Prix on May 9.
However, on Sunday, after his second place in Imola, a new post appeared: a photo of Norris high-fiving his team. It is not known whether he posted it himself or had his management do it.
“I just feel like I have more time to do the things I really want to do,” says Norris. “I just want to spend time with my friends. I go golfing, work out, and do things that are productive.”
He doesn’t have much time for social media anyway, given his busy schedule: After Imola, he has two more races coming up in Monaco and Barcelona.
