“No big deal”: Prass takes his yellow-red card in his stride

The Hoffenheim player’s shirt is now hanging from the ceiling in the changing room.

Alexander Prass won’t forget his unnecessary sending-off in a hurry; as he heads into the changing room, the TSG Hoffenheim Austrian is immediately confronted by his shirt. “Now it’s hanging from a coat hook up on the ceiling in the changing room,” Prass said in a video published by the Bundesliga club on social media.

In the 3–0 win over Bayer Leverkusen, the midfielder had scored to make it 2–0 shortly before the final whistle. The 25-year-old then took off the shirt and was shown a second yellow card, as he had already been booked.

“You can also see that I change direction because it occurred to me, but unfortunately it was just too late by then,” said Prass. He hastily tried to pull the shirt back on. “But that didn’t really work out because it was all a bit of a mess.”

Prass was deeply annoyed. The shirt had “suffered a bit on the way to the changing room”. He had “somehow tugged at it. It ended up with a nice tear in it.”

He’s now taking his own stupidity in his stride. “Because it all turned out fine, I’d say: no big deal,” said Prass, without hiding the fact that “it does annoy me that I can’t play on Saturday”. That’s when TSG are away to Werder Bremen.
