Napoli’s sent out scouts for Jahanbakhsh

Eyes on Alirez

24-year-old Amir Hashemi has confirmed that S.S.C. Napoli Football club has been tracking Alireza Jahanbakhsh for a while. The Iranian winger has been playing for NEC Nijmegen and then AZ Alkmaar in Holland since 2013. He has been with AZ since 2015 and has a contract in Alkmaar until 2020. This season he has scored an astonishing 21 goals across 33 Eredivisie matches including 12 assists. Jahanbakhsh has won an amazing total of 34 caps. However, he only played only a peripheral part in his country’s 2014 World Cup campaign. Unfortunately, he came on as a substitute in all three of Iran’s games.

Agent Amir Hashemi told Radio CRC

“Jahanbakhsh is a right-sided winger, but can play on both flanks and is very good both when attacking and defending. He is extraordinary when taking men on, in dribbling and providing assists, but despite all these characteristics as a winger, he is also a great goal-scorer too.

He then went on to add  ”I can’t say anything officially, but I know that Napoli is interested and have been tracking him for some time. I heard that two or three Napoli scouts have come to view his play for AZ Alkmaar, but I cannot say more than that right now. Jahanbakhsh is very ambitious and it’ll be important for him to know he’s important for his new team. Napoli is a great club and many players would be honoured to wear their jersey.” via Football Italia

The Rome/Italian news team, Corriere Dello Sport has confirmed that former Italian player Cristiano Giuntoli has been watching Jahanbakhsh in action several times this season.
