MotoGP Team Pramac Brings Formula 1 Icon Ross Brawn onto the Board

Pramac-Yamaha Strengthens Its Ranks with Ross Brawn – The former Formula 1 team principal will contribute his extensive experience as a strategic advisor

This marks Ross Brawn’s first role with a MotoGP team. The Pramac-Yamaha team has announced that the 71-year-old Briton is joining the team’s board of directors.

In this role, Brawn will serve as a strategic advisor to team principal Paolo Campinoti, bringing his extensive experience from the highest levels of motorsport to the team.

“I am very proud to welcome Ross to Pramac,” says Campinoti. “Beyond his extraordinary career and successes in Formula 1, Ross is someone with whom I have shared a friendship for many years.”

“Our relationship is characterized by the utmost respect. I am convinced that his vision, his knowledge, and his winning mentality will make a valuable contribution to the continued growth and development of Pramac.”

Brawn’s motorsports career spans more than four decades. He has been active primarily in Formula 1 and has contributed to a total of 22 world championship titles during his career—11 constructors’ titles and 11 drivers’ titles.

“I am very pleased,” says Brawn, “to join Pramac’s board in a non-operational role. Motorsport has always been about people, teamwork, and continuous improvement.“

”I look forward to supporting Paolo and the team and contributing wherever my experience can be helpful. Pramac has built an impressive organization with strong team spirit and great ambitions.”

Pramac won the World Championship title in 2024 with Jorge Martin. The team also won the Constructors’ Championship that year. This achievement marked the end of the partnership with Ducati. Since 2025, Pramac has been Yamaha’s satellite team.

Brawn is considered one of the most influential figures in modern Formula 1. The Briton worked his way up from mechanic and aerodynamicist to technical mastermind.

He played a key role in the successes of Benetton, Ferrari, Honda, BrawnGP, and Mercedes. His collaboration with Michael Schumacher was legendary, as Ferrari shaped one of the most dominant eras in Formula 1 history.

But Brawn has also made his own mark on history. In 2009, he sensationally led the team—which he had taken over from Honda—to both World Championship titles as BrawnGP.

Later, at Mercedes, he laid the foundation for the next era of success. In his role as Formula 1 Sporting Director, he also spearheaded important technical and sporting reforms and helped strategically advance the sport.
