MotoGP 2027: Who’s Riding Where? An Overview of All Rider Moves and Contracts

The 2027 MotoGP rider market is bringing some changes, as nearly all current contracts are set to expire—who’s switching teams at the start of the new era of regulations

Even before the 2026 MotoGP season began, the rider merry-go-round for the new era of regulations was already picking up speed. Early moves were finalized behind the scenes, but official confirmations were a long time coming.

The reason: The new framework agreement between MotoGP and the manufacturers for 2027 through 2031 was not officially confirmed until the race weekend in Brno.

With this announcement, the way was cleared for further rider announcements. In this overview, you’ll find all confirmed rider changes and contracts for 2027 (and beyond) at a glance. The text is continuously updated.

These MotoGP riders are confirmed for 2027

Aprilia

Aprilia secured Marco Bezzecchi on a long-term deal early this year. In early February, the Italian brand confirmed a contract extension through 2028. The continuation of their partnership, which dates back to the 2025 season, was celebrated in true style with a motorcycle wedding.

His new teammate starting in 2027 will be Francesco Bagnaia. The two-time MotoGP world champion agreed to a four-year contract with Aprilia through 2030 and, together with Bezzecchi, will form an all-Italian MotoGP factory team at the Noale-based manufacturer.

Ducati

Both sides officially confirmed after the Czech Republic Grand Prix in June that Marc Marquez would remain with Ducati for the long term. The reigning world champion, who won the title in his very first year as a Ducati factory rider, is extending his contract with the Italian team for two more years through the end of 2028.

He continues to view Ducati as the most competitive project in MotoGP and emphasizes his intention to continue fighting for victories and world championships in the future.

One day after announcing Marquez’s contract extension, Ducati confirmed its parting of ways with Bagnaia. He will be replaced starting in 2027 by Pedro Acosta, who is coming from KTM and has signed a new two-year contract.

The Ducati customer team Gresini will field a completely new rider lineup in 2027: featuring Moto2 talent Daniel Holgado and Joan Mir—both on two-year contracts.

Honda

At Honda, one rider has already been confirmed since 2025 for the first year of the new era of regulations. Johann Zarco secured a two-year contract when he renewed with LCR last year, ensuring he’ll remain with the team through the end of 2027.

MotoGP rookie Diogo Moreira, who will make his debut with the LCR team in 2026, has signed a contract with Honda through 2028—though it remains to be seen which team he’ll ride for.

Yamaha

Yamaha will completely overhaul its rider lineup starting in 2027. Instead of Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins, Jorge Martin and Ai Ogura will ride the M1 in the future. Both have agreed to two-year contracts with the Japanese manufacturer.

Toprak Razgatlioglu has been signed through 2027 upon his promotion to the premier class—with the option to move up from Pramac to the factory team. With the signing of Martin and Ogura, everything points to him remaining with the customer team, even though this has yet to be officially confirmed.

KTM

Following the loss of Acosta, KTM’s factory team must restructure and has secured the services of Alex Marquez, who is coming from Gresini-Ducati and has signed a multi-year contract with the Austrian manufacturer. His teammate will be Fabio Di Giannantonio, who is also switching from Ducati.
