Money rains down on wrestling gem

Newly crowned TNT champion Kyle Fletcher will remain with WWE rival AEW for a long time to come: he is said to have signed a new deal in the spring – one that is apparently very lucrative.

WWE rival All Elite Wrestling has secured the services of one of the hottest young talents on the scene.

“The Protostar” Kyle Fletcher, who recently crowned himself TNT champion of the league with a victory over veteran star Dustin Rhodes, is said to have signed a “multi-year” new contract with AEW in the spring. This is according to the usually well-informed portal Fightful. Tony Khan’s promotion is said to have spent a lot of money, with Fletcher signing a “big money deal,” “especially in relation to his age.”

Kyle Fletcher: One of the most exciting young stars at AEW

The 26-year-old Australian, who is still very young for a wrestling star, has been under contract with AEW since 2023, having previously made a name for himself internationally in the Tag Team Aussie Open with partner Mark Davis.

After Davis was injured, Fletcher quickly established himself as a singles wrestler, mainly through his rivalry with fellow wrestler Will Ospreay, with whom he had previously been associated in Japan’s NJPW as part of the United Empire group.

At AEW, Fletcher is part of manager Don Callis’ “family” and has distinguished himself as an effective “heel” (villain) with his skills in the ring and on the mic. Longtime WWE wrestler Shelton Benjamin, now Fletcher’s colleague at AEW, recently compared Fletcher to a young Randy Orton.

AEW boss Khan also clearly sees a lot of potential in Fletcher – and can now plan with him for a long time to come.
