MLS season 2026: Kickoff, broadcast, dates

The ball will soon be rolling again in North America. Here is an overview of all the information about the 2026 MLS season.

The MLS is kicking off its new season and 30 teams – including 27 from the USA and three from Canada – are looking for the successor to champions Inter Miami and Lionel Messi, who won the final 3-1 against Thomas Müller’s Vancouver Whitecaps.

When does the 2026 MLS season start?

St. Louis City and Charlotte FC will kick off the season on Saturday, February 21, at 8:30 p.m. The game will be played at CITYPARK, located in downtown St. Louis.

How long does the MLS season last?

After 35 match days, the regular season ends on the night of November 7 to 8. The team with the most points receives the MLS Supporters’ Shield, after which the playoffs begin. In the summer, league play is interrupted due to the World Cup from May 25 to July 16.

When do the playoffs start?

The start of the playoffs has not yet been scheduled, but they are expected to begin in mid-November.
