Six games, six wins: The Weißenfels team finishes the group stage of the European North Basketball League in first place.
The MBC Syntainics basketball team secured their sixth win in their sixth game in the European North Basketball League and qualified for the playoffs as group winners. On Tuesday, the Weißenfels team prevailed 69-52 (34-24) at KK Alkar Sinj in Croatia. They had previously lost six games in a row in the Bundesliga. Jure Planinic (18), Charles Callison (17), and Perttu Blomgren (11) scored the most points. In the final quarter, the home side fought back to 43:46 (32nd minute). However, Callison dashed all hopes of an upset with three consecutive three-pointers to make it 55:43 within two minutes. While the MBC hit 13 of its 36 long-range shots, the hosts only managed four of 21 attempts in the Weißenfels basket. The Bundesliga team also dominated under the boards (47:39 rebounds).
