Manthey presents the Evo version of the Porsche 911 GT3 R for the 2026 DTM season: Visually, much remains familiar – but the details reveal a surprising change
Two days before the official test in Spielberg, the Manthey team showed the new Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo with the DTM designs for the 2026 season for the first time. The top Porsche team based in Meuspath near the Nürburgring, which is reducing its DTM commitment from three to two cars in 2026, is once again relying on the proven “Grello” look this year.
Thomas Preining’s car with the number 91 will run in the bright yellow livery with which the Austrian won his DTM title in 2023. Manthey newcomer Ricardo Feller, who was still in the Land Audi last year and takes over the cockpit from DTM champion Ayhancan Güven, will drive the bright green Porsche with starting number 90, which is also known to fans as “Greeno”.
The red color elements on the rear side window of the Porsche are new thanks to sponsor Motul, which has already sponsored the Manthey team in the DTM in previous years. It is also noticeable that the lettering of the Australian partner team EMA has completely disappeared. The cars are also no longer referred to as Manthey EMA, but only as Manthey.
Why the EMA logo has disappeared this year
What is behind this? “In 2026, Manthey and EMA Motorsport will focus on their respective core programs and regional areas of operation”, “For EMA, this means a stronger focus on its racing activities as a Porsche customer team in Australia”, referring, for example, to its involvement in the Porsche Carrera Cup there.
“Even if we no longer compete under a common name in the DTM, the usual synergies (e.g. in the area of knowledge transfer) as well as the fundamental exchange and partnership between Manthey and EMA will continue to exist,” Manthey clarifies that the cooperation with the Australian partner team will continue, although the team will no longer compete at the Nürburgring under Manthey EMA.
Apart from the missing EMA lettering, there are few changes to the two DTM designs. This year, both cars have the same sponsor logos, whereas in previous years there were differences between the two cars. However, this could theoretically change during the season – and depending on the race weekend.
High expectations after a successful 2025 season
On Tuesday, fans will be able to see for themselves what the Manthey look and the designs of the 19 other DTM cars (click here for the starting grid for the 2026 season) will look like on the track, as the official test before the DTM season kicks off at the end of April, which will also be held at the Red Bull Ring, will take place in Spielberg.
At any rate, expectations are high at Manthey, as last year they not only secured the drivers’ title with Güven, but the Porsche team also won the team title. This year, for the first time since 2023, a second team with a Porsche racing car will be competing in the traditional series with the Land team, which is relying on youngster Bastian Buus.
