Dominik Mysterio loses the Intercontinental Title to the masked Penta at WWE RAW – and appears to be heading for a split with Judgment Day colleague Finn Balor.
The final phase of the “Road to WrestleMania” has begun – and the title scene at WWE continues to be shaken up.
Mexican wrestler Penta was crowned the new Intercontinental Champion at the first WWE RAW after the major event No Escape (Elimination Chamber), ending Dominik Mysterio’s 94-day reign – under circumstances that caught everyone’s attention and seemed to pave the way for a bigger story.
WWE RAW: Penta dethrones Dominik Mysterio
WWE staged further signs of a rift between Mysterio and Finn Balor, the leader of the Judgment Day faction, around the match: Mysterio demanded unfair help from Balor, who refused – indirectly helping Penta to take advantage of the confusion and defeat “Dirty Dom”.

The question of how much the Judgment Day members should support each other has recently become a recurring theme: At No Escape, Balor had demanded in his lost match against World Champion CM Punk that Mysterio let him handle his own affairs – and now he wanted the same from him.
Everything points to Balor and Rey Mysterio’s son heading for a breakup and a feud with each other. According to the Wrestling Observer, a match between the two was already planned for SummerSlam last year, but was postponed to give the story more time to develop.

Newly signed Danhausen also played a supporting role in the Intercontinental Title action: In a comedy segment shortly before the match, he got into a fight with Dominik and his sidekick JD McDonagh – and uttered a “curse” against Mysterio. Danhausen may also be heading for a match against “Dirty Dom”.
