Lyon Expected to Allow Nabil Fekir to Join Liverpool – at the Right Price

Lyon Fekir to Liverpool

We are only a week away from the start of the World Cup but that isn’t stopping clubs from being busy in the transfer market. We have already seen some big moves with Fabinho going to Liverpool and Fred to Manchester United but there are more talks happening, with Liverpool keen to get Lyon’s Nabil Fekir signed before the World Cup starts. It seems that Lyon are looking to cash in on the France player, hoping that a few good performances in the tournament will increase his price.

Klopp’s shrewd signings

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been a joy to watch in the Champions League this season and a successful run to reach the final has made them a more attractive option for players looking to further their career. Klopp and the team behind him have been very effective with their recruitment policy that has seen Van Dijk join the club, as well as the huge successes of Mane and Salah. The left back signing Andy Robertson looks like the bargain of the season and players are lining up to join Klopp’s revolution.

If they can sign Fekir then this will be a major coup and a real warning to their rivals that they are back in the big time. For far too long, Liverpool have been waiting in the shadows as fierce rivals Manchester United have stormed on to overtake their league title collection. A signing of this stature could help Liverpool to that next level and win that elusive Premier League trophy – they have not won the league since 1990 and the fans would love to get back to the height of European football like they once were.

Perfect Coutinho replacement

Coutinho’s departure has left a big gap in the creativity department, although the front three of Salah, Firmino and Mane have certainly managed to create plenty of goals between them. But a natural replacement for Coutinho is needed if Liverpool are going to have a good chance in the league. So their attention is focused on Lyon’s Fekir, who is also rumoured to be keen on the move to Anfield.

Fekir is currently with the France squad preparing for the World Cup, with their final warm up match against USA on Saturday. It is unlikely that the France manager will allow his players to get distracted with transfer negotiations during the World Cup, so Liverpool will need to act quickly if they are to wrap up the deal before the tournament begins.
