Ludwigsburg staged a spectacular comeback against Rostock after trailing for almost 38 minutes. Bamberg then made an impressive comeback following their heavy opening-day defeat, thrashing RASTA Vechta on their home court.
Rostock got off to a much better start and led 20–10 after the first quarter. Ludwigsburg responded with 31 points in the second quarter, but were still trailing narrowly 41–44 at half-time. Even after the third quarter, the Seawolves had all the momentum on their side at 64–57 and had led for almost 38 minutes in total.
In the final quarter, the RIESEN turned the game around with a 24–14 run and, having trailed by as many as 14 points at one stage, celebrated their first win of the season. Among other factors, the frequent trips to the free-throw line proved decisive: Ludwigsburg converted 23 out of 31 attempts, whilst Rostock managed only twelve out of 22. Ishmael Leggett led the hosts with 21 points and seven rebounds, whilst Justin Kier contributed 20 points and five assists.
Bamberg dominate Vechta
Following their 72–108 defeat at Bayern, Bamberg produced the perfect response and dominated Vechta from the outset. The visitors were already leading 25–15 after the first quarter, and by half-time the match was practically decided with the score at 57–28. The Baskets showed no let-up after the break either and ultimately won comfortably 108–67.
Bamberg made an impressive 57 per cent of their field goals and sank nine out of 21 three-pointers. The visitors also forced 30 turnovers and recorded 22 assists. Jordan Wright was the top scorer with 17 points, Joshua Obiesie scored 15, and Mylik Wilson put in an impressive performance with 14 points, seven assists and five steals. For Vechta, no player managed to score more than the 12 points recorded by Armaan Franklin.
