An announcement appeared on the Miami Heat’s YouTube page this evening stating that LeBron James is set to be introduced next week. However, the franchise denied the report.
On Tuesday evening German time, a livestream announcement appeared on the Miami Heat’s YouTube channel titled “LeBron James Press Conference, July 27.” The description further states: “Introductory press conference for LeBron James to welcome him back as a member of the Miami Heat.”
The Miami Herald followed up, but the Heat did not confirm the report. According to the report, it was a mistake by the social media department, which had made preparations in case LeBron actually decided to return to Miami. A commitment from James has not yet been made.
James’ agent, Rich Paul, recently emphasized once again on Max Kellerman’s “Game Over” podcast that teams simply have to make their moves now. “No more effort is needed. We’ve got it all figured out, and everyone has made their case.” However, the agent would not reveal when a decision would be made.

LeBron James: Two Titles with Miami
LeBron is heading into his 24th NBA season; the 41-year-old has spent the past eight years with the Los Angeles Lakers. A return is out of the question—and technically impossible this summer, as the Lakers have officially waived their rights to the forward. The Cleveland Cavaliers, the Philadelphia 76ers, and the Miami Heat—for whom LeBron played between 2010 and 2014—are considered the top contenders to sign the four-time MVP.
Alongside Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, Miami reached the Finals four times in a row and claimed the NBA championship in 2012 and 2013.
