LeBron James Talks Down Cavaliers’ NBA Title Chances

CUrry Lebron

Since LeBron James made his move from Cleveland to LA, NBA fans have been counting the days down to see how the move plays out. Will LeBron James be able to reinvent the LA Lakers into a team that competes for the big titles again, or is he making a mistake? Only time will tell.

James predicts Warriors will be champions again

Given James’ history with Cavs, you would expect him to have some nice words to say about his old team but when prompted to give his verdict on their chances for the NBA Championship, he surprised quite a few people. He said: “There’s a lot of championship contenders, but there is only one champion and that is the Golden State Warriors.

“They’re the team that everybody is trying to catch, but you also have the Houston Rockets, who are really good, the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Boston Celtics, the Philadelphia 76ers, Toronto Raptors — there’s a lot of championship contending teams, but everybody knows that that trophy goes through Golden State.”

If anyone knows about the pedigree of the Golden State Warriors and how hard they are to beat, James is certainly the person with the first-hand knowledge. James was unable to prevent Warriors from romping to a 4-0 wipeout of his team in the four finals games. A similar scoreline of 4-1 had decided the Championship in the previous year.

The NBA season starts again soon

We don’t need to wait too much longer now for the first games of the NBA season, with preseason matches taking place at the end of September. The season then starts on 16th October, whilst Lakers fans will have to wait until 19th to see James in his first competitive game in a Lakers jersey when they play against the Trail Blazers. Christmas Day sees James play his old adversaries the Golden State Warriors, which will be a much-anticipated game in the calendar.
