Curacao isn’t expected to go far in the World Cup—at least that’s what the odds suggest. In Football Manager, things might turn out differently, and Sports Interactive is ready to reward players accordingly.
Curacao is looking forward to the World Cup—and is already showing great confidence in the run-up to the tournament. A song they released goes: “Blue wave all the way, ban bati aleman”—which translates to “We’re going to beat Germany.” On paper, the roles are clearly defined, but as we all know, World Cups have produced their fair share of surprises.
You can already experience such upsets virtually in Football Manager 26. The simulation developed by Sports Interactive holds the official FIFA license and is now launching a special Curacao-themed challenge in partnership with FIFAe.
Head to the island with ‘Zealand’
Anyone who manages to cause a sensation with the Caribbean nation’s national team can also win in real life: a trip to Curacao. There, the winner will experience the local soccer culture up close. Together with the well-known FM content creator ‘Zealand,’ they’ll head to the island, where the itinerary includes visits to soccer facilities and meetings with the team.
To participate, players can download a specially prepared save file on FIFA.GG. Then it’s up to them to write their own success story with Curacao. The best result can be shared on social media using the hashtag FIFAeCuracaoChallenge, and the save file can also be uploaded to FIFA.GG.
“To ensure a level playing field,” according to Sports Interactive, participation is limited to the PC and Mac versions of Football Manager 26. The challenge runs from June 9 to June 27. The winner will be announced in late July via FIFA.GG and the official FIFAe channels.
