Lando Norris reveals his four favorite Formula 1 drivers: In addition to two compatriots, there is also a German world champion – but it’s not Michael Schumacher

Formula 1 world champion Lando Norris has revealed his four favorite Formula 1 drivers in a video that McLaren published on social media. The McLaren driver opted exclusively for world champions that he admired as a child.

“I’m Lando, and these are my four favorite Formula 1 drivers of all time,” says the current world champion to the camera. Unsurprisingly, the Briton’s list starts with two compatriots: Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button. “We’ll start with two Brits. To be more precise: Jenson and Lewis.“

”They were the guys I cheered on as a kid and who inspired me,” adds Norris. “So, two Brits, two incredible drivers, two McLaren drivers, two of my favorites.” Norris is also drawing on two other world champions whose careers he has followed at close quarters for the remaining places.

Vettel and Alonso in Norris’ top four list

“Third and fourth place are a bit more difficult. I will name drivers that I grew up with, that I admired and whose work I witnessed. So, number three, I would probably go for Sebastian Vettel. He’s just a great guy. A really good guy.”

“When I started racing, he won his world championships with Red Bull,” says the current McLaren driver, looking back. “Witnessing that was impressive. He was a passionate driver, had style with his helmets and so on. In that respect, he was a completely different driver for me.”

“Number four, my fourth favorite driver. I’d probably go for Fernando Alonso,“ says Norris, explaining: ”I admired him as a kid as well and witnessed his work in my early years at McLaren when he was still driving for McLaren.“

”He’s just got a good personality, he’s a lovely person who I get on well with and he’s just a nice guy,” says Norris. “So when you combine a good personality with a great driver, I think all four of them are pretty good drivers.”
