Kuminga’s future remains uncertain: Bulls and Heat in the running for the forward

Jonathan Kuminga remains a hotly debated name. While many signs point to him staying with the Golden State Warriors, there continues to be movement behind the scenes.

As Jake Fischer reports, the Chicago Bulls are still interested in the 22-year-old forward. The team had already been in regular talks with the Warriors about possible deals over the past two years, including in connection with players such as Alex Caruso, Zach LaVine, and Nikola Vucevic.

Chicago could now make another attempt. However, the focus there is initially on extending the contract of their own restricted free agent Josh Giddey, who is hoping for a starter’s salary after a strong finish to the season.

Heat as an option – if the Durant deal falls through?

According to the report, another team that is considered a possible taker for Kuminga is the Miami Heat. However, there is one clear condition: if the Heat come up empty-handed in the race for Kevin Durant, they could instead go after younger wing players such as Kuminga. But that is still pure speculation.

Currently, everything points to Kuminga staying with the Warriors – at least until bigger dominoes fall, such as a possible Durant trade. There could be more clarity on Monday when Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy speaks to the media at the traditional pre-draft press conference.
