Julian Draxler Wanted on Loan at Sevilla

Julian Draxler Wanted on Loan at Sevilla

When PSG signed Julian Draxler, he had all of the makings of the next star to light up Ligue 1. He first broke through at Schalke, where he became the second youngest outfield player to start a match in the Bundesliga. From there, his meteoric climb to football stardom continued, with one highlight being the 2012-13 season where he ended the season with ten league goals playing from midfield.

Draxler has fallen upon difficult times at PSG

However, he has struggled significantly since he traded the Bundesliga for Ligue 1. He could now be on his way to La Liga, with Sevilla hopeful of arranging a year-long loan for the player. Arsenal has followed his career and was expected to make another move for the player but it did not materialise. Now the player is thought to be open to trying to get his career back on track with the Spanish team.

His playing time could be very limited at PSG in a team that is already filled with attacking talent like Neymar, Mbappe, Cavani, Adrien Rabiot, Angel Di Maria and Timothy Weah. So the chance to get more playing time with Sevilla could be the best move for him before the transfer window closes and he finds himself sitting on the bench for the foreseeable future.

Draxler started only 19 Ligue 1 matches last season

He only started 19 Ligue 1 matches in the 2017-18 season and Germany’s performances in the World Cup didn’t do him much in the way of a profile boost either. He now has a very important decision to make in whether to try his chances in La Liga or to try and play his way into the manager’s thoughts at PSG.
