Israel to play four European Championship qualifiers in November: UEFA decides new dates

New dates have been set for the Israeli national team’s European Championship qualifying matches. The two matches cancelled in October will be made up in November

After the cancellation of all matches scheduled for October in the country shaken by the Hamas terrorist attack, UEFA announced the corresponding replacement dates on Monday. Israel will now play on Nov. 12 (in Kosovo) and Nov. 15 (against Switzerland), in deviation from the planned schedule, with two regularly scheduled matches also scheduled for Nov. 18 (against Romania) and Nov. 21 (in Andorra). It is still unclear where the home matches of the world number 72 will be played.

Special arrangement for match against Kosovo

The original call-up period for national players is only from November 13 to 21, so there is an exception for the Kosovo match: clubs that do not belong to any of the participating federations only have to call up one player. Israel is seeking a ticket to the tournament in Germany in Group I, where no team has yet qualified for the European Championship.

Most recently, UEFA had indefinitely postponed all matches under its jurisdiction in Israel. A match with German participation was also affected: The U21 European Championship qualifier between Israel and Germany was originally scheduled for October 17, but there is no new date for this match yet.
