Injured: Djokovic Withdraws from Miami

Novak Djokovic apparently needs to take a break. The superstar has been experiencing pain recently.
Grand Slam record champion Novak Djokovic has withdrawn from the ATP Masters in Miami. As the organizers announced on Sunday, the world No. 3 will not be competing due to a right shoulder injury.

Three days earlier, in his first appearance since losing the Australian Open final, Djokovic was eliminated in the round of 16 at Indian Wells by Jack Draper.

Against Draper, the 38-year-old Serb played with a compression sleeve on his right arm. He later told the Tennis Channel that he was dealing with a forearm injury that was occasionally affecting his serve. “If I don’t serve for five or six minutes, then the first few serves of a match are a bit painful,” Djokovic said.

Djokovic is now sitting out the second leg of the “Sunshine Doubles.” Last year, the six-time winner of the tournament in Miami lost the final to Czech player Jakub Mensik. Djokovic has since become known for increasingly focusing on select highlights and the Grand Slam tournaments.
