Hollywood star Keanu Reeves shows the creation of the Cadillac F1 team: an in-depth look behind the scenes of the FIA, FOM, and technical development.
Hollywood star Keanu Reeves is currently working with the Cadillac Formula 1 team on a documentary about the newest racing team in Grand Prix racing. The project was announced in July 2025 and aims to take a look behind the scenes of the American journey to the world championship.
“I’m part of a documentary about Cadillac in Formula 1. It’s about the creation, the work on the application, and their journey to the first race in March,” the actor explained to F1 TV during test drives at the Bahrain International Circuit.
Reeves is no stranger to Formula 1. In 2023, he hosted the four-part hit series “Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story,” which aired on Disney+ and the BBC. When asked what insights he gained from working on the two documentaries, Reeves was impressed: “How amazing and profound it all is. From the outside, it’s very intense. I mean, when we look at the race car, take a look at the track, just the technical side, putting a team together, what it takes to have the car, all the elements, and on top of that, a change in the regulations.”
The documentary is not intended to start with the first race. “Since we’re telling the early history of the team, even before they entered Formula 1, we’re also shedding light on some of the background of the FIA, the FOM, and simply this entire world,” Reeves continued. Dan Towriss, CEO of the Cadillac F1 team, emphasized the importance of this collaboration when the project was announced: “This is a story of bold ambition and relentless drive. We are honored to be working with Keanu, whose passion and knowledge of racing runs deep, and we are proud to be working with GM on this incredible story.”
According to Towriss, the project offers a great opportunity for the premier class: “We have the opportunity to welcome a new generation of fans to Formula 1, and Keanu’s creativity is the perfect spark to ignite this journey.”
