“He’s crazy” – Toprak Razgatlioglu’s riding style impresses Andrea Dovizioso

MotoGP veteran Andrea Dovizioso finds it hard to understand what World Superbike Champion Toprak Razgatlioglu can do with his Yamaha R1

Superbike champion Toprak Razgatlioglu is also attracting interest outside WSBK with his spectacular riding style. Today the Turk is testing the MotoGP Yamaha at MotorLand Aragon. Razgatlioglu is to find out whether the MotoGP bike harmonises with his aggressive riding style. In the World Superbike Championship, Razgatlioglu does things that are far removed from physics.

MotoGP veteran Andrea Dovizioso is also impressed. “He is crazy. It’s hard for me to understand all the details from the outside. His riding is unique and really different. I don’t understand how he can brake so late compared to Rea. Rea is already an absolute late brakeman,” Dovizioso explained in an interview with ‘WorldSBK.com’.

“It’s crazy. It’s fun to watch his duels. He is very aggressive until the last corner,” notes Dovizioso, who was a guest at the WSBK event in Misano and also chatted with Razgatlioglu about the Yamaha M1.

“It’s always fun to be here as a spectator. It’s a special event,” commented Dovizioso, who can’t imagine competing in the production-based championship after his MotoGP career, as Max Biaggi, Alvaro Bautista or even Marco Melandri did before him.

“I don’t think so. I rode in the world championship for 20 years. It’s not about trying to figure out if I’d rather race in World Superbike or MotoGP,” he hints at his career ending. “I will probably prefer to enjoy my life and pursue my passions, like motocross,” said “Dovi”.
