“He Has All the Information He Needs”: Why Is the LeBron Saga Dragging On?

Where will LeBron James spend what is likely to be the final chapter of his basketball career? This question has been on the minds of the NBA public for several weeks now. According to a new report, the 41-year-old is in the decision-making phase.

NBA insider Chris Haynes made this claim on the streaming service Prime Video: “LeBron has all the information he needs. It’s entirely up to him to make a decision now.” James’ agent, Rich Paul, confirmed this to him in a conversation.

“Right now, he’s in the decision-making phase. We can hope that he’ll make a decision soon.”

The Cleveland Cavaliers continue to be named as the top favorites to land him. Contrary to a recent report suggesting that a return to Ohio was already a done deal, more recent information indicates that the Cavs are “the team to beat.” That’s according to insider Marc Stein.

Behind Cleveland—which James once selected with the first overall pick in the 2003 draft—a quintet of teams still sees a chance. According to Stein, these include the Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Denver Nuggets.
