“Great reinforcement”: Bayern extends long-term contract with Stanisic

In these weeks, FC Bayern München is putting its money where its mouth is when it comes to personnel. On Friday afternoon, the record champions announced the contract extension of Josip Stanisic (21).

“We are very happy that we have once again been able to integrate a talent from our FC Bayern Campus into our professional squad and that Josip has established himself so quickly,” sports director Hasan Salihamidzic is quoted as saying on the Bayern website: “He has made his way and is a great reinforcement. Josip is a very reliable player, very strong in two fights, very secure on the ball and also puts pressure forward. He imposes himself in every training session – that’s exactly how he should continue.” The professional contract, which was only signed in July until 2023, has now been extended early until 2025.

In the current season, Stanisic, who opted against the DFB and for the Croatian national team, was used in six of seven Bundesliga matches (three substitutions, three substitutions, kicker grade average 3.13). Add to that a late substitution in the 3-0 win at Barcelona in mid-September.

“I don’t want to miss a second.’

“I would like to thank the club for the confidence,” explains Stanisic, who is versatile in defence: “I try to continue to float on this wave of the past months – they felt phenomenal for me, I don’t want to miss a second. My goals are very clear: I want to help the team as much as I can so that I can contribute with good performances so that we win as many titles as possible. “
