Fourth win in a row: Munich wins Bavarian derby in Würzburg

Defending champions Bayern Munich have consolidated their lead in the BBL table with their fourth win in a row.

The team of Head Coach Svetislav Pesic celebrated a 90:81 (37:46) success at playoff contenders Würzburg Baskets, who have also won twice in a row recently, and extended its lead over Alba Berlin to four points.

The man of the evening for the visitors was Andreas Obst. The world champion scored his 710th three-pointer in the final second of the third quarter to replace Pascal Roller as the German record holder in the German league.

Munich trailed by as many as eleven points at times from midway through the second quarter. It was not until the decisive final period that the visitors regained the lead and managed to hold on to their hard-won advantage over time.

Bayern’s best scorer was Oscar da Silva with 19 points. Davion Mintz stood out in Würzburg’s team with 18 points.
