According to the “Deloitte Football Money League,” FC Bayern was among the world’s highest-revenue football clubs in the 2024–25 season. Domestically, FCB stands out in two categories—ahead of various competitors.
The expected league title, a Champions League exit in the quarterfinals, and—above all—the DFB Cup exit in the round of 16 paint an overall picture of the 2024/25 season that FC Bayern is unlikely to be satisfied with. The expectations at Säbener Straße are simply too high for that, though the club has managed to meet them financially.
At least that’s what emerges from the annual “Football Money League” compiled by the auditing and consulting firm Deloitte. This ranking—which excludes transfer revenues and lists the world’s highest-revenue soccer clubs—attests to an outstanding result for FC Bayern during the season in question. The record champion ranks third in this global comparison.
Real and Barca at the Top
Specifically, according to Deloitte, the Munich club’s revenue for the 2024–25 season totaled 860.6 million euros. An impressive sum, though it still falls short of second-place FC Barcelona (974.8 million euros) and lags significantly behind the revenue of industry leader Real Madrid. The report puts that figure at 1.2 billion euros.
Nevertheless, this is a success for Bayern. After all, the report mentions a 12 percent increase, which is primarily attributed to higher revenues from media rights, sponsorships, and merchandise. This represents remarkable growth at this level.
BVB Lags Behind – VfB Celebrates a Fabulous Season
Unsurprisingly, Munich remains uncatchable in a national comparison. Borussia Dortmund (12th place worldwide), as the closest pursuer with a three percent increase and revenue of 531.3 million euros, faces a massive gap.
Third-place Stuttgart (296.3 million euros) trails even further behind and, in the analysis, also benefits from its Champions League participation and DFB Cup victory. An exceptional season that resulted in a 79 percent increase and their first top-20 ranking globally since 2009–10. The Swabians are listed in 18th place.
SGE is Bayern’s top rival in women’s soccer
From a German perspective, there is another club in the women’s rankings. While FCB once again dominates and ranks ninth globally with revenue of 7.2 million euros, Eintracht Frankfurt follows closely behind. According to Deloitte, SGE’s women’s division recorded revenue of 4.7 million euros, narrowly missing the global top 10 by a hair.
