First win of the season for Bayern – Alba can’t get going

The FC Bayern München basketball team won for the first time in the new season in the BBL. Things went less well for the Fraport Skyliners, while the MBC started a small series.

After the surprising opening defeat against ratiopharm Ulm (83:86), the title contender won clearly against the Löwen Braunschweig on Sunday with 96:80 (57:42). “We have to become more consistent as soon as possible. We have many new players and have had little time so far. Now we have to continue in the Euroleague,” said Bayern’s Ognjen Jaramaz at “Magentasport”.

After ten minutes, Andrea Trinchieri’s team was already leading 30:17. The hosts defended the lead without any problems and had their best shooter in Deshaun Thomas (18 points). Benedikt Turudic (17) was the most successful for the Lower Saxons. On Tuesday, the Munich team will be challenged by Unics Kasan after two defeats in the Euroleague.

Alba doesn’t get into the swing of things

Champion Alba Berlin, on the other hand, is not getting into the swing of things. At MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg, the capital club, which continues to be short of players, lost 62-74 (33-45) after a weak second (18:28) and fourth (9:16) quarters, especially on the offensive side, and remains behind expectations with only one win from three matches. Justin Simon (16 points) was the best giant shooter in the second win this season. Alba also has to play in the Euroleague on Tuesday. The Berliners, who are still unsuccessful there, will receive Fenerbahce Istanbul.

Frankfurt winless again – MBC starts series

While the Fraport Skyliners from Frankfurt remained without points in the third game of the season with 64:74 (31:43) against the Hamburg Towers, the Hanseatic League won for the first time. Robin Christen convinced the guests with 19 points. 17 points from veteran Quantez Robertson were not enough for the Hessians.

The second success in the third match was achieved by the Syntainics MBC from Weißenfels. Against Hakro Merlins Crailsheim, the club from Saxony-Anhalt won after overtime with 116:111 (99:99, 55:53). Iranian Behnam Yakhchali convinced the MBC with 24 points.
